Face continued

I think this is the most happiest I've ever been when painting a face. I added quite a bit more pink than usual, and I really think it works, especially in the nose area.
Feeling quite excited about this piece.
Although I know the lips are still a bit wonky, but I shall fix that in time.

I'm using this fantastic skin tone pallet again while I'm familiarising myself with painting skin.

:EDIT!!!:

Fixed her lips.

And then lifted her left eye (our right) up a bit, and started on the hair.

Aimme: travelling costume

I had completely forgotten about this line art that I did last semester, and as I was going through my files I realised I could use this (click here). I've done Aimee in armour ready for battle, I'm in the process of drawing a relaxed Aimee, so why not doing a detailed portrait of her in travel clothes?
That way, all aspects of her adult costume is covered.

Here's what I have so far- just playing around with the skin tones in her face. I'm starting to feel a bit more confident about using more saturated colours in skin; slowly but surely painting skin tones is coming quicker and more natural to me.

As the colour and lineart are still seperate layers, it's looking quite creepy at the moment. I don't know why I didn't do what I usually do and merge everything down straight away. Will make a copy of everything and then merge it all into one layer.

Base colours

Base colours are in. I think I'm going to finish the base colours on all other pictures I'm working on before I go any further on this one.

Rough lineart for Aimee and companion

Really having lots of fun with this one. As I've already done a detailed portrait of Aimee ready for battle, I wanted to do another of her more relaxed.
Her costume is based very loosely on one of the initial designs I came up with when I original designed Aimee (click here to see).

Time to start colouring. Time spent so far on working out the sketch- 2 hours.

Aimee and her companion

Just a quick little sketch of an idea of Aimee and her critter interacting. Aimee has been the most fun thing about this piece; I don't really know why I find drawing the female form so enjoyable.

Still in progress

So I started experimenting with this sketch. So far I've found it a very awkward piece to paint, and it doesn't seem to be working very well over all. I think it's because I've drawn his anatomy pretty crooked, which has made things ten times more difficult.
I'm not going to be taking this any further, but it was a useful exercise, especially in painting difficult and unusual form.

I've started to work in some detail now. Not really feeling this piece any more- I just don't feel like it fits in with the project. I'll carry on with it though, just to give it a chance.
